New Poetry by Charlotte Yang

On the Way

Under the dark blue dome,

I ride slowly.

The azure distance is the direction to go.

The yellow horizon is the way to go.

The orange dark light, lights up my way forward.

Suddenly,

the yellow horizon turns a corner.

The purple light leans on the azure sunset glow.

Another turn - the yellow horizon appears.

Purple is disappearing.

The road becomes tortured.

Purple and yellow alternate.

A ray of sun shines through

Grey tiles sprinkle warmly on the body.

The handlebar is shining.

Turn the wheels again, towards the future.

Fate

I stand under the dim light,

I see you are waving at me.

The dark green silhouette floats in the air,

I see you slowly disappear.

I am running,

I am rushing,

I want to grab your hand again,

Kiss your cheek.

I want to touch your old cheek again,

Feel the erosion of time.

If there is justice in this world.

Then please let me bear this pain for you!

I don’t want to see that your hands are full of pinholes,

I don't want to see your insistence to endure the pain.

The fate is all because of me,

Unpredictable life is impermanent.

Life or death is made by ones’ fate,

While wealth and honour is by God.

The dead have left us and the living must be strong and live well,

So that the dead can rest in heaven.
